The battle was just a memory and the Coven was slowly rebuilding. Harley and her friends had finished school and was moving on with adulthood. With her friends employed by PID and her potion shop expanding, life could not be better. However, when an old nemesis comes back for vengeance and starts messing with necromancy, Harley and co need to work together to save themselves and the coven.
Harley was still taking life seriously, not one to having fun, she always felt as if all the problems of the coven and her friends lay on her shoulders. However, problems intensify when Caelum came into the story and whilst an event happened to Harley which may shock readers, I was glad it happened as I am intrigued what the author will do next. Caelum is my favourite character by far, a shapeshifter, with a bad boy Rockstar style about him.
Whilst Harley was still the MC, we get to learn more about Bane, Nick, Roger and Daria and they played a bigger role in this story. As you are reading this you forget that are still teenagers as they have a lot responsibility and are quick to jump into action. Although, like most teenagers, they do have their non-magical issues which normally revolved round their love lives. I don’t want to give too much away, but you will have a few ahh moments.
This story felt more intense and you could sense the seriousness in the story. The story was full on action and you can imagine the magic flying around London. The involvement of PID, is a crossover of this authors other series and has me wondering where the author will go with both series. This is a YA story that is not fluffy and is perfect for any teenager who misses Harry Potter, but do not get me wrong this series in not in Harry Potter’s shadow, it is tying for top spot and is shows just how much fun reading about magical families are. This series just gets better and better and I cannot wait till March to read the next instalment

Bloodworth and Moonspell are the two remaining old magical families. Rivals for years and Tobias and Simon were keeping the tradition alive. But when a Nash Thornhill a third mage who got his powers by deceit and wanted to kill them both. They must work together to stay alive.
This was a quick read and from the first page you are drawn into a magical story about love and betrayal. With only a few characters the story concentrates on Tobias and Simon. They were complete opposites and whilst Tobias was bullied by Simon, he always had an attraction for him. Although Simon was confident when he was with his friends, he was submissive and timid when he was with Tobias. Tobias was in his element when he was making his potions or playing in the dungeons.
When the prophecy was revealed, you had a sense of failure for their relationship but as the story continues there is hope. When Thornhill sees his chance to defeat the mages, the story is built up to a thrilling final battle.
I have not read many M/M books, but I knew with this author that I would be in for a good read. This book will not be for everyone and is definitely an 18+ read. However, if you want a quick fantasy love story than this is the book for you. I read this book in an hour and my only complaint was that I wish it was longer. As for the other characters, I hope that the author develops a story about Amy, the half fae.

Empress Angelica Mancini, is enjoying her reign over the Vampire world. Travelling abroad with Danny, all thoughts of the Paranormal Investigates Division was at the back of her mind. But when a Skin Changer is threatening her agents then she knew that she was back in action.
Angelica was as bad ass as usual, the time away from the PID, had not soften her at all. As soon as she knew that her agents were in trouble she was quick enough to jump into action. Clad in her trade mark leather clad outfit, she was not afraid to get her hands dirty. Her relationship with Danny is as strong as ever and they soon slipped into their old ways when they began to investigate the Skin Changer. Even when their relationship was cracking you knew they were still dedicated to the case. Needing extra help enabled the author to introduce a new character and allowed us to learn more about Danny.
Whilst Angelica and Danny were full vampire, I enjoyed that the author didn’t lose their human emotions. This helped show how dangerous the mission was and as the Skin Changer was a savage creature, its kills were vicious. Reading this story , you can tell that the author loved Harry Potter as there were lots of one lines relating to this franchise, one in particular was Hermes was described as pulling a Severus Snape on Angelica.
Although this is the 6th in the series, this can be read as a standalone story and whilst I have read others in this series I have not read them all. I felt that I did not miss out as past scenes relevant to the story were explained in detail. The fight scenes were intense and at time you think that all is lost. Every character is described in detail and even the minor characters play a part in telling this story. I am pleased that there will be more in the series as it did end on a cliffhanger. Whilst reading this story I could imagine it as a TV series and this series would appeal to Fantasy and Buffy lovers.
Roll on number 7 and I am off to catch up on this series

Bree Carson is a vampire. From the moment she was turned she vowed to wipe out evil. She now spent her time hunting criminals, human or supernatural she was not fussed. Humans and supernaturals live together in a sort of harmony, but the new mayor was happy and vowed to wipe out every non-human. However when the Mayor needed help, she went against her beliefs and asked Bree to help in a life or death situation.
This is a standalone story which I hope leads to a series. It has a feel of her Paranormal Detective series and Bree has the same qualities as Angelica Cross. She is confident in her abilities and whilst she spends the majority of the time killing targets who deserve it, there is a softer side to her. As the story progresses we get to find out her links with the Mayor, as how Bree came to lose her family.
As it is a novella it is a quick read, and I was amazed how much the author put in the story. There is action and tension throughout. If you have never read anything from this author than Bad Reputation is a good book to start with.
