Welcome to the Launch!

Hi everyone.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my website.  As the name suggests, it’s all about the scary, spooky or freaky – a bit like me then.  So, what scares you?  Failing that, what makes you smile with deranged glee? If you’re me what scares you can make you howl with laughter, squeal with shock or chuckle with mild amusement.  Horror can do all of these things, which is why I love it.

I decided to get in the mood for this launch by watching some old school horror last night.  It may have an American cast but Clive Barker’s Hellraiser; gauche, gory & fabulously violent is wonderfully British. It isn’t afraid to push the boundaries & it is truly inspirational.  Surely the beating of Frank’s heart in the darkened room is in honour of ‘The Telltale Heart’.

I too hope to push the boundaries, entertain you, make you squirm, but most definitely make you chuckle.  I do hope you enjoy my tawdry ramblings.

As the immortal creation Pinhead said, I . . . “have such sights to show you”

Actually, Hellraiser has a largely British cast and is set in London; weirdly, by the second film (which opens mere hours after the first has faded out) the action’s relocated to the Eastern USA. As for any homage to Poe, Clive based the script upon his own novella “The Hellbound Heart”.

Hi Steve, I had a feeling watching it the other night that there is a significant British vibe to Hellraiser so suspected as much. Love Clive’s stuff
